We're Going to be Backpack Buddies!
Our GWOH 2026 project is "Backpack Buddies" which will continue for the full 2026-2027 school year, not just one day!
We'll be filling bags with food and essential personal items for distribution to children in need at our neighborhood elementary school, Tanglewood.
Our goal is 50 backpacks filled!
Come, join us after service on Sunday, September 13 to fill the first set of backpacks bags. Wear your "Gods work. Our Hands." T-shirt if you have one. A meal will be provided.
To contribute items, check the suggested foods list for what is needed and drop them off at the church office Monday—Friday, 9A–1P.
To contribute funds, please do so through Zeffy Just $10 provides one child with a weekend's worth of food.
“God’s Work. Our Hands.” Sunday began in 2013 in connection with the ELCA’s 25th anniversary. It continues to be an opportunity to celebrate who we are as the ELCA — one church, freed in Christ to serve and love our neighbor.
